Off The Wall delivered the concrete works for the Mitre 10 distribution centre at Tauriko, covering footings, formwork, and the placement and finishing of the warehouse floor slab. Placement started at sunrise to get the concrete down ahead of the heat of the day, with the finishing crew following through on ride-on power trowels. A distribution centre floor is unforgiving work. It carries racking loads and forklift traffic for decades, and the tolerances leave nowhere to hide a bad joint. Running the pump, the lay crew and the finishing crew in-house meant one team was accountable from the boxing through to the final pass, with no handover between subcontractors for the programme to fall through.
